Licensed Clinician – Become an Equal Partner in a Mission-Driven, Expressive Arts Practice
White Mountain Expressive Arts began in the White Mountains of Maine and New Hampshire and has grown into a flourishing remote group practice. We’re now expanding and looking for additional clinicians to help shape the next phase of our work.
Currently operating remotely with two clinicians, we’re planning to open a physical location in Lacey, WA, for in-person services 1–2 days per week (with flexible scheduling). Our expansion includes launching therapy groups, expressive arts classes (both in-person and virtual), graduate internship opportunities, and CEU trainings—thanks to our NBCC-approved provider status.
We’re looking for someone who is:
Required Qualifications:
- Independently licensed (LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, or equivalent) for at least 2 years
- Willing to obtain licensure in Maine (our founding state and primary referral source)
- Open to training as a clinical supervisor for graduate interns
- Open to seeing at least some children/adolescents within your caseload
- Interested in contributing to the growth and direction of the practice by serving on the nonprofit board (all partners are board members)
- Located within driving distance to Lacey, WA, for occasional in-person work with interns (days and hours are flexible)
- Must be willing to accept insurance, specifically medicaid, as accessibility is a core value of our practice and we serve the community as a nonprofit charity. This means we provide affordable care to underserved populations. We will support you through the credentialing process, and our billing specialist will handle claims and minimize administrative burden.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or experience in expressive therapies (e.g., expressive arts therapy, art therapy, music therapy, drama therapy)
- Prior grant writing experience- we are hoping to get some grants to help support additional underserved populations
- Completed supervision training
- Trained in or willing to pursue training in ART, EMDR, or Brainspotting
Benefits & Compensation:
- Revenue-based compensation: You keep 100% of your per session earnings, with only shared business expenses split equally among partners (typically $400–$650/month, including two full in-person days). There is no percentage-based income split with owners, as there is no owner and we are mission-driven to serve as many members of the public as possible with high-quality services. We understand this means doing everything possible to match employment rates as close to market value as possible while maintaining the requirement that we take insurance, especially Medicaid, and offer sliding scales.
- Eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) as a W-2 employee with our nonprofit organization
- Extremely flexible scheduling and autonomy in managing your caseload
- Established client referral stream—current demand exceeds our capacity
- Access to QSEHRA and SEP-IRA: set aside untaxed income for health insurance and retirement contributions
If you’re passionate about expressive arts, enjoy flexibility, and want to co-create something meaningful while maintaining autonomy in your clinical work, we’d love to hear from you.
